World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades give players the possibility of upgrading equipment that they already have. This can be done at any item upgrader NPC.
Generally upgrades increase an items main stat and give it extra benefits, based on the item type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs and Goldwrap for build casters.
Armour

Armour is one of the most important factors that keep Link protected from injury in the majority of situations. While it can't be upgraded like weapons, it is able to be improved in different ways to improve its defence capabilities.
Armour is designed to safeguard animals and people from harm or injury, whether it's from a direct physical attack or from a variety of environmental or activity hazards. Historically, armour was mostly constructed from leather or fabric but later, protections made of metal were also utilized for military purposes, particularly such as heavy cavalry or combat drones.
There are many ways to upgrade your armour, but the majority of them require you to visit one of the four Great Fairy Fountains scattered throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has a distinct degree of improvement, with higher levels of protection requiring more rupees and materials.
First, Armor Upgrades are permanent upgrades. Once they've been installed and removed, they cannot be reverted unless you own another piece of equipment that has the same upgrade. It is important that you only apply the highest level of upgrades to your equipment and that you have enough of the materials needed to complete the process.
When it comes to acquiring the required upgrade components you'll find them in a variety of places around Hyrule such as shrines, shops and even enemies. They are usually marked with an gold circle or blue triangle symbol and will be available in large quantities as you move through the game. While they might appear randomly, there is a chance that acquiring certain upgrade elements will result in an adventure that rewards players with more.
It's important to note that, although the level offered by each upgrade could differ, it will always be more than zero. This is due to the fact that a full set of upgraded armour will give you a significant defense boost that protects you from all forms of attacks, excluding magic which makes it a very effective weapon for any class.
Weapons
If you're looking to make your guns distinctive, you can upgrade them by utilizing a variety of unique upgrades. These upgrades can boost damage or alter the performance of the weapon to match your particular build. They can also unlock new attachments, such as unique enchantments and different kinds of ammunition, and aesthetic options.
To upgrade a weapon, you'll need to have an upgrade component available and the item itself. The weapon must be at or above a certain point for the upgrade to take effect and most weapons can only accept one upgrade at a time.
Weapon upgrade components are available all over the world, from the enemy or from merchants. The upgrade components themselves are a combination of components that can be slotted into weapons, armor trinkets and gathering tools to provide an attribute bonus or other effect when they are in use. They require equipment to be of a certain degree to allow the upgrade. They can be upgraded in the same manner as other items.
The upgrades themselves are a mix of Smithing Stones and Runes, and are used for enhancing the base stats of a weapon, and also to increase its scalability with other stats. These upgrades can be purchased from enemies in the open world or from merchants. boosting items can also be dropped by combat.
Two NPCs can upgrade your weapon: the Blacksmith Hewg, in the Roundtable Hold hub zone and the Smithing Master Iji located in the Road to Manor hub zone. Both of these NPCs accept your Smithing Stones or Runes to upgrade your weapon.
Prioritize upgrading your top-in-slot items first. Then upgrade the ones you're not likely to replace in the near future. Upgrade your weapon first, then upgrade your shoulders, chest hands, feet, and hands if you plan to play a melee build. The same principle applies to Magic and Utility Items. However, depending on your style of play, certain items will be more beneficial than others. Armour is the same, with certain Reforges being better than others.
Magic Items
A character can only upgrade one magic item. If an upgrade plan is cancelled then any subsequent upgrades for that item will not begin. Magic items that are upgraded cost double the gold they would normally cost to create or buy however they may have extra benefits.
A magical item can be any item that has special properties or effects. These items are mostly weapons, but they could also be shields, armors, cloaks and potions. They could also be rings, scrolls, or other items. Certain of these items can be made to speak.
Many magic items can enhance their capabilities. This makes them more useful to players or help players overcome difficult situations. A weapon infused with an ingredient that is unique could be able to provide extra damage against a certain kind of enemy. This is particularly beneficial for characters who have reached a level where they are likely to encounter the same type of monster repeatedly in dungeons.
A ring that is infused with magic might provide immunity to nonmagical attacks that bludgeon or pierce or cut (excluding silver-based attacks) until the character takes another long rest. This is particularly useful for combatants who are melee or anyone who wants to stay clear of buying a shield.
Certain enchanted objects possess special powers which allow the character to cast spells that aren't in their list of classes. This is useful for characters who have difficulty filling their spell slots due to multiclassing. These enchanted objects require an Intelligence check (Arcana), and the spell is determined by rolling a table based on the number of Intelligence points spent.
Other items that can be enchanted may allow the player to change their appearance, or create an entirely new one. These items are particularly beneficial for characters who are forced to leave their home or are in a place where they may not be welcome. An item that is magical can provide them with an invisibility effect, or make them invisible to all but a select few.
Utility Items
Utility items are any equipment that doesn't fall under the categories of Armor or Clothing and come with a range of capabilities. Contrary to Weapons and Armor, no one utility item can conflict with another. Most utility items have a passive effect that players can activate by using them. However, some of them have additional abilities that are activated by pressing a button or triggering an ability.
The Flashlight is the most popular utilitarian item. It illuminates the area around it. Other items of utility include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow the player to float in the air while moving and the Jetpack which allows players to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. In the Engineering section you can quickly create a variety of useful items, while others are available only through Research projects or Experimental projects on the Proving Ground.
Players can unlock more powerful utility items in addition to the items available in their regular inventory by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Certain of these items can be upgraded for more effective use.
Most utility items give the player an advantage in navigation or enhance a specific combat ability. Sharpening stones, crafted by a Weaponsmith will increase power and Ferocity while Maintenance Oils, made by a Huntsman, increase Concentration and healing power. Other items of utility can be used by players to boost Damage or Condition Damage.
All XCOM soldiers can equip a utility item at the beginning of the campaign. Eventually, an additional slot is made available by equipping certain types of armor or by completing engineering, research or experiments in the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are made available by equipping the Grenade Launcher, which lets the player equip an Smoke Grenade or Bomb in an additional grenade slot while an offensive grenade can be placed in the main grenade slot.
